Aquaculture America 2009 Tours
February 15-18, 2009
Washington State Convention Center
The Aquaculture Communications Group (ACG) is offering several tours in conjunction with the Aquaculture America 2009 conference and trade show. Why not make use of your time in Seattle to visit some of the renowned aquaculture facilities nearby.
Washington State Aquaculture
The Washington Fish Growers Association (WFGA) represents finfish aquaculture producers and supporting businesses in the state and has created an online Virtual Finfish Aquaculture Tour for your exploration.
The Pacific Coast Shellfish Growers Association (PCSGA) represents shellfish producers and allied businesses from Alaska, Washington, Oregon and California.
In collaboration with some Washington State aquaculture firms and the Northwest Fisheries Science Center, ACG has organized two full-day tours for you to explore some of the research and production activities taking place in the region:
Tour # 1 - NWFSC Manchester Research Station & American Gold Seafoods Salmon Farm
Tour # 2 - Taylor Shellfish Farms
British Columbia Aquaculture
Only a short distance from Seattle is the thriving aquaculture industry located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. To come this far and not take a few extra days to visit the wide range of aquaculture research & development, production, and processing facilities located in the Nanaimo and Campbell River regions would be a shame.
The BC Salmon Farmers Association (BCSFA), BC Shellfish Growers Association (BCSGA), and Aboriginal Aquaculture Association (AAA) represent aquaculture producers and industry partners in British Columbia.
In collaboration with Vancouver Island-based firms, producer associations and First Nations, ACG has put together an outstanding opportunity for you to visit and see for yourself what is taking place in this beautiful part of the Pacific Northwest:
Tour # 3 - Vancouver Island, Canada – Nanaimo & Campbell River Aquaculture Facilities
