ACG's Aquaculture Community
What is this?
A Community of Practice (CoP) for people who make their living in aquaculture or in an activity related to aquaculture.
Some Background
At the European Aquaculture Society’s annual meeting in Trondheim, Norway in 2001, just prior to Aqua Nor 2001, I gave a presentation called, “Using the Internet for Strategic Communications”. In this presentation I introduced the idea of creating an online or virtual community of aquaculture practitioners that would share their collective knowledge, experience, insight and lessons learned to solve a number of communications challenges being experienced by the industry.
I would like to share this presentation with you, with only slight changes from the original. My objective is to begin the conversation that we as a community need to have so that we can begin our work toward building an industry that we can be proud of, and which consumers will trust and respect.
Next Steps
ACG will create an online forum for the purpose of gathering input that will be used to develop the Aquaculture Community prototype. I hope you will consider joining us.
